Astrometrics Facilities

The Astrometrics facility is responsible for actively gathering and maintaining all information gathered or uploaded on planetary and spatial bodies, anomalies, and systems in known space.


Functions and responsibilities are described below:

Astrometrics utilizes information from long and short range scans conducted with astrometric sensors (Separate from the primary array) and any secondary scans from the Science station on the bridge (If in use as an auxiliary station as there is no dedicated science station on the bridge) for spatial body observations and analysis’. This information is then collected and stored in the primary astrometrics database. Astrometrics also receives data from the Starfleet Science Directorate and the Starfleet Stellar Cartography division to keep their database updated. Astrometrics aboard the Ragnarok is utilized for the mapping and plotting courses for the starship itself or any other craft. Astrometrics is also utilized for measurements of distance between planetary bodies and other spatial anomalies and bodies, as well as the measurement of those items themselves. Limited detailed information is displayed on the bridge station at any given time.
