| Command Liaison |
A junior officer assigned a secondary duty supporting the Captain/Commanding Officer and XO in limited command-side dealings. The Command Liaison is brought in after command has opened contact, usually to handle follow-up with a client’s aide, broker, technician, or data representative. They clarify technical details, verify route, cargo, or data-token requirements, record proposed terms, relay questions back to command, and make sure secondary conditions are understood before the CO or XO commits to anything.
They may accompany the CO or XO during negotiations or speak with a counterpart on the client’s side for limited follow-up, but they do not seek contracts independently, arrange primary meetings, negotiate final agreements, accept jobs, set prices, authorize exchanges, or commit the ship. |
