Sim Rules
Characters and Applications
1. You must be 18 or older to join the SIM.
2. The sim is rated 2-2-2. Off limit topics include suicide and sexual violence.
3. Characters must not have any god-like or super hero syndrome type super powers. No augments, members of the Q continuum, changelings, holograms, etc.
4. Canon races only, and they must be in alignment with SIM canon when applying to be a crew member.
5. Characters must not have had any direct contact with canon events or characters in any form.
6. Characters must be your own original creation.
7. No player may write or use another player’s character, whether primary or an NPC character, without that character’s express permission.
8. All characters must have an avatar. No anime images or anime characters are permitted — avatars must be of a real person or a 3-dimensional render. The only exception is for races seen exclusively in Star Trek: The Animated Series (or similar), which may be the sole source for image references. The Command team can assist with reviewing and approving these, or with generating a new avatar if needed.
Communication
All communication between players on this SIM will be respectful — in character, out of character, while discussing SIM or Star Trek relevant material, and while discussing anything unrelated to the SIM or Star Trek — through any official or unofficial form of communication. This includes on-SIM and off-SIM email, instant messengers of any kind, or any other medium.
Discrimination and disrespect of any kind between players and personnel of this SIM in any written or verbal form are absolutely not tolerated. The CO reserves the right to request proof of communications as well as proof of defense against any accusation regarding this type of conduct. Failure to provide requested records can result in removal from the SIM if either party fails to provide documentation requested. Any accusation that is unfounded may also result in the accuser being removed from the SIM.
This is a Zero Tolerance Policy. The CO reserves all rights in addressing these matters and there are no exceptions to this rule.
Code of Conduct
1. Be respectful both in and out of character. Racist, sexist, and other intolerant language or behavior is not allowed.
2. Problems should be reported to your command staff: the Captain, First Officer, and Second Officer. These three individuals work together to moderate any issues within the game or among players.
3. Problematic behavior will be dealt with by the command team.
4. Blatantly rude, offensive, and/or antagonistic behavior in or out of character may result in immediate removal from the sim depending on the severity of the offense. The Command Staff reserves the right to remove any player from the SIM at any time, for any reason.
5. Players whose primary writing style or recurring focus involves sexually suggestive dialogue, innuendo, flirtatious advances, or overt sexual themes — regardless of their character’s species, gender, orientation, background, or identity — may be removed from the simulation immediately and without prior warning.
The Captain and senior crew (or designated Command team) will review each case to determine if a warning, strike, or temporary probation is warranted before any permanent removal. However, repeated emphasis on sexual undertones, erotic content, softcore scenarios, or writer-driven agendas that center adult themes over plot, crew dynamics, and shared adventure is strictly prohibited.
This simulation is built around the thrill of a rogue starship crew: smuggling, piracy, high-stakes raids, evading patrols, double-crosses, treasure hunts across the quadrant, uneasy alliances, and surviving by your wits and your ship. It draws inspiration from the edgier corners of Star Trek — Maquis resistance fighters, independent traders, Orion syndicates, outright pirate bands — but remains a collaborative storytelling space first and foremost. It is not a venue for erotic roleplay, persistent sexual subtext, or personal agendas that prioritize adult content over the core excitement of spacefaring outlaws.
This is a strict zero-tolerance rule. Violations disrupt the group’s shared tone, immersion, and trust, and will not be tolerated.
Posting Rules
Working together we can all help and contribute to missions and the overall success of each other’s characters and the SIM. For any questions regarding the strike policy, please check the Strikes section on the WIKI (Computer Database) page.
