The corridor outside of the holodeck was empty, typical for this time in the evening. Most of the crew were either on shift or relaxing elsewhere. It only ever seemed that holodeck one was in use, which made it easier to reserve the second one. Lindsy was in long shorts and a t-shirt, with sandals. Her hair in a single braid draped over her shoulder. More than modest enough for what she was planning to do. Over her shoulder was a bag containing real towels and a tin of bath salts. She also had a few different bottles of wine her invites had been sent for others to join. Only to other ladies. Being as how there were so many men on board, she always appreciated a respite away from them, even if only for a time. It was a tradition she had started on other postings, and allowed the women to band together as it were.
Stepping up to the large set of doors, she keyed in the program she’d taken along with her from years ago, allowing her to walk through into a place that was no longer the ship. There were two terraced stone pools, cut into a dark hillside. One larger one, and one smaller, more private one. Both with stone stairs and seating in the water around the edges Steam rising off of the water kept anything from under the surface from being visible, and as it rose, it caught the light of lanterns set around them, as well as strung across above.. The air itself was warm, smelling of cedar and pine, with different minerals accenting them. The night sky was also above, with a large red moon hanging high, giving a beautiful yet ample glow. There were more stars to note than would actually exist in a real location, but she was okay with that. The stars were her favorite to look at and it was actually kind of nice to not recognize any patterns between them for once.
Lindsy opened her bag and pulled out the tin, tossing salts into each of the pools before making her way to get set up. Next she began to set the bottles and towels on a small wooden table when the doors opened up behind her.
It was Mei-Lin, wearing a sort of pool robe, flip flops and her hair tied back. She didn’t quite know what she was getting into so she had at least worn a bikini under, but also remained well covered to maintain professional modesty during her walk there. She entered quietly and looked around before addressing Lindsy. “This is quite a setup you have here, I take it the ship's new computer is handling all of this with ease. I didn’t see any processing spikes noted so it must be a cake walk to load.”
Lindsy smiled back “I’ve had it for a while and needed to take it with me everywhere, so I travel light, so to speak.”
Mei-Lin responded with a nod and smiled, taking off her robe. Scars on her forearms and legs were now more prominent, a hazard of her chosen profession. Still, for having only been in it a short time, Lindsy was a bit surprised but didn’t say anything about them.
“So are we required to wear anything when we get in or is this private for us?” Mei-Lin had been looking to unwind and be able to be herself. She also wandered where her roommate was, they hadn't seen each other after shift so she didn’t have a chance to confirm with her or not about attending.
“I mean, it’s why I gave out a private code, ladies only.” Lindsy popped open one of the bottles. “Hop in as you like.”
The engineer smiled and stripped down quickly, making her way slowly into the water of the larger pool. She was quickly covered up to her neck and sitting on the nearby benches along the ledge.
A moment later, they could hear the doors opening once more, seeing T’Vara enter next. She herself was wearing a loose, light blue shirt, black gym pants, socks, and shoes. She opposed anything open toed due to hygiene reasons. “I’m here for the health benefits.” She announced. “The fact there is likely to be more social interaction is only happenstance.” The Romulan also took note of the bottles on the table “I’ll take the dryest wine you have.”
She then herself made a similar move as Mei-Lin, stripping down all the way and going down the steps into the pool. However instead of sitting on a nearby ledge right away, she stood in the middle. The water was deep enough where she stood that it reached almost to the top of her shoulders.
Mei-Lin chuckled as her roommate entered and had been so matter of fact with her words. Lindsy resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she poured drinks for the other two and handed them off before looking to finally hop in herself. It was only a few moments after that when they all heard the door open again, and looked to see who would walk around the corner of the path leading in to join them next.
The invitation coming to her had certainly been a surprise for Tiraa especially considering the conversations she had with both Lindsy and Zedd the previous day. Truthfully, she had almost wondered if it had been an error. She had been tempted to ignore it and continue on with her day, but after some gentle encouragement from Rallid, she had acquiesced to him with a promise to attend. Figuring out what to wear was a task on its own, but she settled on a flowing wrap cover up of shining gold and amethyst over a black bathing suit and finished it off with simple black espadrille-type shoe. Given their different backgrounds, she erred on the side of caution that the other women likely wouldn’t be getting completely undressed. She carried with her two boxes, one of chocolates and one of soft fruit pastilles, to add to the gathering. Going empty handed to another woman’s hosted event was considered rude, after all.
